Individual Care Service Website F.A.Q

Q: Which areas do you cover?

A: We currently provide services in Myton Warwick, Polesworth, Hartshill, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Shirley, Solihull & Chelmsley Wood

Q: How do you monitor quality and compliance?

A: We have a dedicated Quality and Compliance Officer who conducts regular audits of each service. In addition to our internal audits. We also send out quality assessment questionnaires once every year, this provides our client’s and their families with the opportunity to give us detailed feedback of the service we provide. We use the data we collect to monitor and improve the service we provide.

Q: Is ICS a charity, and can I make a donation?

A: ICS is a registered charity however, we do not accept donations. A registered charity is a specific type of voluntary organisation that must conform to the regulations set out in charity law particularly the Charities Act 2011. Our charitable status means we are set up for the benefit of the public, we are a not for profit organisation regulated by the Charities Commission.

Q: If I have a problem or a complaint who can I speak to?

A: In the first instance complaints should be directed towards the relevant manager, if however, this is not possible complaints can be made by contacting our head office details can be found here.

Q: How much do you charge for providing support?

A: The amount we charge for services varies depending on a number of factors, if you would like to obtain a quotation please feel free to contact the office for more details please click here.

Q: I need to find a support agency for myself or a relative, can you help?

A: We can provide private packages of care without the involvement of a social worker. If your care is funded by the local authority we would need a service order from the local authority before we could provide you with a service.

Q: What types of funding is available to pay for my support needs?

A: The following types of payment options are available:

Private funding – This option would involve you paying the full cost of the care package directly to Individual Care Services.

Individual service fund - This gives you the flexibility to design your own care and support without the responsibility of managing it. You and your family will be able to track the services you receive, the payments we take and the balance of your allocated amount. We will provide you with statements on a regular basis.

Social Services funding - You may be entitled to financial support.  You will need to contact your local Social Services Department and arrange for a social worker to carry out a needs assessment.  If eligible for funding, you will have the choice of either the Council arranging your support or having a Direct Payment.  More people are choosing a Direct Payment as if the Council arranges your support you may not be able to choose who will or what support will be provided.

Direct Payments - If you are eligible to receive care and support through the Council, you will be entitled to a Direct Payment. This is an amount of money which the Council would pay to you to spend on your support. This means that you will have choice and control over who provides your support and what and how that support is provided.

Health care funding/continuing healthcare - Those who need aftercare support, either as a result of an accident or because they have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, are also eligible for government subsidies.

Q: Can you recommend an advocacy service?
